Privacy Policy

Effective date: May 12, 2026

1. Who we are

StudyDSA is operated by Armas Films LLC("we", "us", or "our"), a limited liability company organized in the Washington, United States. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect your personal information when you visit studydsa.com or use any of our services (collectively, the "Service").

Questions about this policy or your data can be sent to support@studydsa.com.

2. Information we collect

We collect information that you provide directly, information collected automatically when you use the Service, and information from third parties that help us deliver the Service.

Information you provide

  • Account information: name, email address, password (stored as a hash), username, profile image, time zone, preferred programming language.
  • Authentication identifiers: if you sign in with Google, GitHub, Microsoft, or Apple, we receive a stable account identifier and basic profile fields from that provider.
  • Payment information: if you purchase a subscription, our payment processor Stripe collects and stores your card details. We receive only billing metadata (last four digits, card brand, ZIP, country, subscription status).
  • Content you submit: bookmarks, notes, problem progress, and any messages you send to support.

Information collected automatically

  • Session data: IP address, user-agent string, device type, and login timestamps stored against your active sessions.
  • Usage data: pages viewed, features used, problems attempted, and similar interaction signals.
  • Error data: diagnostic information about application errors, captured via Sentry to help us fix bugs.
  • Session replay (consent only): if you grant analytics consent in the cookie banner, Sentry may record an anonymized replay of your interaction with the page for debugging purposes. Replay is disabled until consent is granted.

3. How we use your information

  • To create and operate your account and deliver the Service.
  • To process subscriptions, billing, refunds, and tax obligations.
  • To send transactional email (account verification, password reset, receipts, important account notices).
  • To detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents.
  • To debug, monitor, and improve the Service.
  • To comply with our legal obligations and respond to lawful requests.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

4. Legal bases (EU / UK users)

If you are in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we rely on the following GDPR Article 6 legal bases:

  • Performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b)) — to provide the Service you signed up for and process your subscription.
  • Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)) — to keep the Service secure, detect fraud, monitor errors, and improve quality.
  • Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)) — for non-essential cookies, session replay, and any optional marketing communications.
  • Legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c)) — to satisfy tax, accounting, and regulatory requirements.

5. Who we share information with

We share personal information only with the service providers ("sub-processors") we need to operate the Service, and only to the extent necessary for them to perform their role. We do not sell personal information.

6. International data transfers

Armas Films LLC is based in the United States, and our sub-processors are primarily located in the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States. Where required, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or the UK International Data Transfer Addendum to legitimize the transfer of personal data from the EEA, UK, or Switzerland.

7. Cookies and similar technologies

We use a small number of cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and (with your consent) monitor errors and replay anonymized sessions. For details, see our Cookie Policy. EU and UK visitors will see a consent banner that lets you accept, reject, or customize non-essential categories. California residents can opt out of any "sale" or "sharing" via the banner; we also honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal.

8. How long we keep your information

We keep account information for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward to support legal, tax, fraud, and security obligations. You can delete your account at any time from your settings page, or by emailing us at support@studydsa.com. After deletion, we retain the minimum information needed to comply with legal obligations (typically up to seven years for tax records) and may retain anonymized or aggregated data indefinitely.

9. Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you.
  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
  • Delete your personal information.
  • Export your information in a portable format.
  • Withdraw consent (where we rely on consent).
  • Opt out of "sale" or "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising — though we do not engage in either.
  • Object to or restrict certain processing.
  • Lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority (EU/UK users).

To exercise any of these rights, email support@studydsa.com. We respond within the time period required by applicable law (typically 30 to 45 days). We will not discriminate against you for exercising any privacy right.

10. California residents (CCPA / CPRA)

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act, gives you specific rights regarding your personal information.

In the previous 12 months we have collected the categories of personal information described in Section 2 of this policy, for the purposes described in Section 3, from the sources described in Section 2, and shared it with the categories of recipients described in Section 5. We have not "sold" or "shared" personal information as those terms are defined under the CCPA. We honor opt-out preference signals such as Global Privacy Control (GPC).

You may submit a request to know, delete, correct, or limit the use of sensitive personal information by emailing support@studydsa.com. You may also authorize an agent to act on your behalf. We will verify your identity using information already associated with your account before responding.

11. Children

The Service is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at support@studydsa.com and we will delete the information promptly.

12. Security

We use industry-standard measures (encryption in transit, hashed passwords, restricted access, monitoring) to protect personal information. No method of transmission over the internet or storage system is fully secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we become aware of a breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you and applicable regulators as required by law.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Effective date" at the top of this page and, for material changes, provide additional notice (for example, by email or an in-product notice). Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
